Working together is meant to make the college process feel more manageable, more organized, and far less stressful. My role as a college consultant is to guide the process step by step, help your family think through choices carefully, and keep your student moving forward with clarity and purpose.
Step 1: Initial Conversation
We start with a relaxed, in-depth conversation. I want to learn who your student is — not just academically, but personally. What interests them? What environments suit them? What feels exciting, and what feels stressful about the process? Families can share concerns, goals, and questions. This helps us decide what kind of support will be most helpful and where to begin. Step 2: Getting to Know the Student
Before making decisions, I take time to really understand the student. We talk about strengths, preferences, academic interests, activities, and what they want their college experience to look and feel like.
Step 3: Building the Plan
Based on your selected service, we map out a clear path forward. We organize priorities, set a realistic timeline, and break the process into manageable steps. Students know what to focus on now, what can wait, and how to stay on track.
Step 4: Ongoing Meetings and Support
We meet regularly to work through decisions, review progress, and tackle whatever comes next. Some meetings are planning sessions, while others may be working ones. Students get guidance, accountability, and a place to ask questions openly. Families can reach out between meetings whenever a question arises!
